History of Fox Chapel
Fox Chapel's history dates back to the 1700's. During the Revolutionary War this area was an iron mine. After the mine closed it became Snow's Farm which included Fox Chapel as well as several of the surrounding neighborhoods. The neighborhood as it stands today, was built in the 1960's. The homes are primarily stone ranchers with a few brick and 2 story homes. The southern border of the neighborhood is the recently reclaimed Spring Branch stream. The eastern border is the Loch Raven Reservoir and Watershed.
